WINTER GUIDING
As winter arrives the Highlands are transformed into a landscape of snow and ice making this a wonderful time of year to ascend wild and remote summits. With our intimate knowledge of the Highlands, we are perfectly positioned to offer guided summits. If you have a particular objective in mind then we are happy to help. We are also able to tailor winter summits to your ability, time and wishes.
We are able to deliver essential skills training for travelling in the winter mountains. Learning to walk using an ice axe and crampons is an important winter skill. We will spend some time as we travel learning the skills needed to move safely on our objectives.
We often use the Cairngorms National Park, the Ben Nevis area, Glencoe and also the more remote North West Highlands. Please feel free to get in touch and we can start planning your winter mountaineering experience.
We are able to provide the following equipment for your course included in the cost. Ice axe and crampons along with a helmet. Excluded is winter clothing and winter mountain boots. From our bases in both Fort William and Aviemore you can easily hire winter boots from the sport shops. We can arrange this for you and pick up the boots prior to the course starting. All mountain safety equipment such as group shelters and first aid kit will be provided by the instructor. We have created a kit list page to help you on the site and please feel free to get in touch for further help.
