Mt KENYA TREK

The trekking summit of Mt Kenya Point Lenana at 4995 Mts may lack the fame of its neighbouring peak in Tanzania Kilimanjaro but it makes up for that in mountain superiority. The rugged summit with its spectacular views across the summits of Batian and Neilion and out across the vast African landscape makes for a very special mountain adventure. Its three distinct levels of a wild forest full of African big five to the moorland heath area above and finally the rocky alpine glaciated tops give a real sense of climbing a mountain in a wild setting.

Our chosen route takes the less frequented Chogoria route on the Eastern side of the mountain with our descent via the Siromon route on the Western side giving a full traverse of the mountain. Trek highlights, Two stunning mountain lakes Michaelson and Ellis, Lewis Glacier, lush forest and high rugged Alpine terrain.

This is a fully supported expedition with camping with excellent meals. Porters are used on the mountain and you only carry what is needed on the days trek.
